2 weeks, 6 days...

It's getting close! Diana and I go tomorrow morning to our scheduled doctor's appointment to make sure everything is going as planned. Diana has started to feel mild contractions for the last 3 days but they only last for about 10 - 25 seconds and are sporatic. She also feels that Camden has lightened a little bit as she feels less pressure on her breathing and more pressure down below. Can you tell in the pictures? It is hard to tell.
She is really ready for Camden to finally come out! If it was up to us, we would prefer to have him out this week so I could get a little extra time with him. But like my dad says, he will come out...when he is ready.

3 Weeks, 5 days...

Diana and I went to the weekly doctor's appointment today to make sure everything was fine with Camden and Diana. The doctor was not able to show (because she was delivering a couple babies; kinda scary!) so nobody was there that could check the position of Camden manually. That meant that we got to do an ultrasound! The last ultrasound that we did was August 22nd while Diana was about 22 weeks pregnant. 4 months later, Camden sure has changed. As the nurse put it, he has "chubby" cheeks and he sure takes up a lot of room. We found out that in fact he is in the correct position and we are hoping he doesn't decide to change at the last second.

We also pre-registered at the hospital today. When we walked in, the attendant almost had a heart-attack because she wasn't "ready for anyone in labor!" We calmed her down letting her know we were just pre-registering but we are looking forward for when we really get to go in because of the real thing! We have our bags packed!

I wish you guys could have seen him today but I can assure you...he definitely looks a lot different than this...

9 Months...

Well, Diana is now officially 36 weeks pregnant. Only 4 more weeks and Camden Michael Daves will be here with us! Who knows...it could be even sooner!

Empathy Belly

This is a picture we took during our "Birth Class". Ken definitely said this shed a whole new light on his view of pregnancy. He had a difficult time bending over and walking around; he said he couldn't even tie his own shoes. Even though it was nice that this ten minute exercise gave me a few days of back-rubs and sympathy, I wonder what 9 months woud have gotten me!

Baby's Room...

It's always nice to have an spare day to get things done around the house; especially getting things done in our nursery. Today I spent most of the time building a floating shelf and a book shelf. They turned out really good and make the room look a lot better as well as provide us room to put stuff. It is the first time I had ever built a floating shelf. I like it so much, I might have to build another. :)

Baby's Room...

Diana and I are currently in the process of cleaning out our spare (storage) room to make way for Baby Queso's room. It seems a little strange to us because we have never used the spare room for anything other than to throw our junk in (as seen below!) We decided to paint the room a more kid friendly color (Detroit Red and Blue...Go Pistons!) and it has changed the look of the room dramatically. We are still not finished with it yet but we are making a lot of process. I just hope that Baby Queso doesn't decide to come out early because we are not ready!
It will look a lot better with shelves and all our sports stuff that we are planning to put up. I am building shelves for the walls tomorrow and hopefully have them up this weekend. Check for updates later as the room will be evolving over the next 6 weeks. :)
