Diana's First Reaction...

Like I said before, our first reaction to finding out that Diana was pregnant was non-stop nervous laughing. This happened off and on for Diana the whole night. Luckily I was able to take pictures of the second time while Diana was reading the pregnancy book.

Some light reading...

Trying to get better prepared for what's to come, Diana and I bought some books at the local book store about what to expect. It is crazy all of things that are going to happen in the next month and that we will actually get to hear a heartbeat when we go to the doctor in about 3 weeks. The baby is about the size of a pea and is already developing a BRAIN! That is just crazy. Diana has really started to feel some effects lately. Her energy has been drained; she is currently sleeping on the couch. Luckily, she has not had morning sickness yet. I am not looking forward to that because I know it will be a chain reaction when Diana starts throwing up. I guess it will get me ready for the real thing! :)

A New Chapter...

On May 16th, at 4:44 PM, Diana and I found out some amazing news. Diana is PREGNANT! Although we have been trying for a while now, we were definitely not expecting this month to be the magical month. Our first reaction? Unstoppable laughing! We could not believe that something like having a baby could ever happen to us. I think laughing was a nervous reaction that came out of both of us. Of course we didn't believe it could be true so we ran to Wal-Mart and bought two more pregnancy tests; different brands...just-in-case. When we got home, Diana took the other test to see if we maybe just got a false positive. No, positive again! Could this really be happening? Diana and I be responsible for a human life? No way.My first reaction (that lasted for the entire evening) was disbelief. I would only believe it once a baby actually came out of Diana. Diana's reaction wasd excitement and more nervous laughing. We took out one of our pregnancy books that we bought earlier and every time Diana read anything new, she would laugh and cry for 5 minutes. We read about how Diana would start to have morning sickness soon, about all the changes with the baby in the next couple weeks, and all the changes with Diana's body. After another pregnancy test was taken :) in the morning and the results were the same, the disbelief went away. We went to the bookstore and bought about a dozen books to figure out where to start with this life-changing event. I have since learned that I am pregnant too and I feel that I am a little bit more prepared to handle my wife's mood swings, food cravings, and craziness. One more pregnancy test later (just to make sure)and we are well into our first pregnancy (well, only about 6 weeks into it). We just hope that our baby stays healthy and that we are completely ready for our lives to be changed. Our emotions have now changed to utter amazement after feeling every single emotion possible. We hope that everything goes smoothly and that the baby gets my good looks. :)
